Destiny 2 Accessibility

In this post I will be talking about the accessibility options that Destiny 2 provides its players and if they are actually helpful for people to use. I will be looking at how many options are given to the player and if I think there is any that should be added in the future.

Below is a screenshot of all the accessibility options which I will explore further with you:

As you can see in the screenshot above Destiny 2 have not given their accessibility options a separate tab, instead they have mixed them in with the gameplay options which in my opinion makes it more difficult to isolate which options is for accessibility, especially for someone who has a impediment.

Looking at the accessibility options you can see that Destiny 2 provides the following options, subtitles, colour-blind modes, and reticle colour. These are fairly standard options within most games but I think it is good how in Destiny your are given the options as to what gear drops changes colour in the different colour-blind modes as well as just the game in general. For example you could choose a colour-blind mode but not like the way it changes the gear colour so instead you can manually change the colour of each gear rarity to your specification. The subtitle options are fairly simple as they just allow you to change the text colour of the subtitles as well as the size and opacity. This is great for people with reading difficulty's or for people who struggle to see certain text sizes.

Overall I feel that Destiny 2 has some decent accessibility options that will certainly help plenty of people that play, the only real criticism I have is that there is not a separate space in the settings that purely houses the accessibility options. Making a new tab for these accessibility options would be a step in the right direction as this could lead to more options being added as the game updates.
