Post-Production

With the research and the production all finished it is time to gather everything I have made so far an implement it into Unreal Engine. The models are to be imported and checked for any issues and bugs that may make the models look bad and then they are to be placed to form the Acropolis. However before we import the models there is some preparations to be done, such as landscaping.

Landscaping

In order for the Acropolis to be built we first must have some foundations, in this case the foundations are the massive hill that we see in the research. I have made the hill in Unreal engine using the landscape mode to help situated where my Acropolis will be built. I have a link to a blog post which describes the process of how I created the hill, this link is shown below.

Grey Boxing

With my hill fully made I have began building a grey box of the Acropolis on top of it to get a better idea of how I am to place my models in order to get a good result. Grey boxing is a simple way to plan out where future meshes and models are to be placed, without spending to much time planning. This is a quick way to effectively plan so there is no real detail need as all you need is cubes to mark where the models are going to go. When the time comes to import the models all I need to do is swap out the grey boxes for the actual models. Below I have left a short clip of me showing of the grey boxing.

With the Acropolis now fully sculpted and grey boxed I wanted to add one more thing before I began importing my models, this is a grass texture material that I can use to make the landscape green which ultimately makes the scenery more realistic. However due to technical difficulties with unreal engine I could not get the grass texture to appear so instead I had to leave the landscape without a grass texture, but I did make the back part of the acropolis a grass material as shown below.

This image above shows the backend of the Acropolis that I have been able to add a texture as this is not landscape but instead basic floor geometry.

Importing and Finishing the Project

Now that all the preparations are completed it is finally time to add all of my hard work into Unreal engine and make the Acropolis using my asset pack. I have simply imported all my models into my Unreal Engine file with no problems what so ever as all my models look great in engine. Below I am going to leave a final video showing of my assets and materials in UE4 along with my built Acropolis that I have made using my asset pack.

With the Acropolis now presented and built in UE4 it is time to wrap up this projected. I would have made another video of me applying textures to my models in UE4 but I am not happy with the quality of my texturing and I think the acropolis looks better in normal colours than some poor quality textures. In conclusion the project has been very fun but also extremely difficult as we have all been stuck at home without certain software, in my case substance witch is shown by my textures. Overall I feel I can take away more positives than negatives from this project witch makes me feel good about the work I have produced.
